St. Maarten celebration on Lohengrin

We are used to 10.00 hours started with the celebration of Lohengrin, our residential area in Hoogerheide. We first sang together in a circle and we then go drink coffee with pie there.

Janny told us something on a note written during the feast of St. Michael we wanted to forget and that had burned. Now we were writing down what you wanted to retain / nurture and textiles they had special purpose bags made; that you do to keep your paper with what you had written on it could do and could. Then we went to the tree discs with a beautiful text: A good neighbor is better than a distant friend.

When we were done with the tree disks we are going to see who was going to which number do because we were giving the tree drives to the people in the street. Because with St Maarten you give something, but you also keep a piece for yourself.

We received many compliments from local residents, they found it all very nice what they got. Some sent a card and some neighbors even came along with a box of chocolates as a thank you. When we all arrived back, we went together to eat: tasty pumpkin Lukas and tasty pie Sonja she had made along with some of our. After dinner we cleaned up together and we finished together in a circle. Some have just said what was on their note. Then we said to each other in the circle “nice weekend”!
