Last Friday, 31 January, we stopped at the memorial Candlemas (2 February).
40 Days before Christmas we go - light - little by little more inside; also in the nature of the days become shorter. 40 Days after Christmas we give, symbolic, the light back to the earth again.
In celebration of this day was the star - which from 40 days before Christmas - depends on our tower, brought inside. Then we gathered around the pond and we dropped gently burning candles floating in water. That was not so easy: The wind also wanted to meegenieten!
When we were together later in the chapel, Janny told us more about the meaning of Candlemas and we sang together.
