Dagje uit naar de expositie van Ger en bezoek aan de basiliek, tekst door Jordy

Vrijdag 6 January, teacher Janny, John, Robin, Sudath and myself went to Ger exhibition in the building of the nursing home's Rare Mountain in Oudenbosch. They were beautiful paintings made by the Ger Cluse at Titurel. We were kindly welcomed by the caretakers of the old people's home. We were brought to the so-called chapel at the end of the building, where were the paintings neatly on easels.

They were beautiful drawings. Iedereen was enthousiast over het werk en de tijd die Ger eraan had besteed. Afterwards we got a cup of coffee and tea and we continue towards the Basilica of the day.

the Basilica

After the wonderful exhibition of Ger we went to the Basilica in Oudenbosch.

The basilica is a scaled-down replica of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The basilica is 16 times smaller than St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. It was built between 1867 in 1880. It is a beautiful specimen with the finest decoration. We have subsequently also been to the cemetery belonging to the church. We ended the morning with a nice lunch at the Hay House in Roosendaal.
